Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the dedication of Fire Station #2 to Robert Fernandez. (Angel Ramirez, Fire Chief) 

In the realm of public service, few sacrifices are as poignant and commendable made by our firefighters.  Line of duty deaths is the ultimate price paid by these dedicated firefighters every day.  During the course of their duties, we are reminded of the risks that we face to protect the residents of the City of San Luis.  These heroes put their lives on the line to ensure our safety and the safety of others.  Each line-of-duty death is a reminder of the dedication and courage firefighters face when they come to work.  They are willing to confront danger and safeguard the property of those in need.  It is essential for our council to acknowledge the dangers and sacrifices those firefighters make on a daily basis to protect each one of us.

Today we are here to honor and respect Robert Fernandez.  On February 5, 2022, Firefighter Fernandez gave the ultimate sacrifice when he succumbed to his injuries obtained in the line of duty serving the community of San Luis.  The San Luis Fire Department kindly asks that we dedicate Fire Station #2 in the name of Robert Fernandez.
