ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 2325. A resolution of the Mayor and Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, approving the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of San Luis, Arizona, and Yuma County for the purpose of providing Field Trainer Services. (Danae T. Figueroa, Magistrate)
SUMMARY:
The purpose of this IGA is to continue a long-standing partnership between the Superior Court of Yuma County and the San Luis Municipal Court, with the goal being for the Superior Court of Yuma County to provide court services and training to the San Luis Municipal Court through a Field Trainer.
Superior Court has one position dedicated to automation and systems training and support related to the Court’s case management, and other related topics. The position is paid for, in part, by a grant from the Arizona Supreme Court. All counties in the state have the same arrangement with a Field Trainer in the Superior Court and the limited jurisdiction courts participating in supporting the funding of the same with a nominal contribution. Partnering allows for more efficient and effective use of resources and provides opportunities to collaborate to provide consistent, unified, and professional court services in Yuma County and the San Luis Municipal Court. The IGA is in effect for 10 years. Therefore, the San Luis Municipal Court requests that the City Council approve the IGA in the amount of $1,000.00 per year.
