ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 2324. A resolution of the Mayor and Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, approving the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of San Luis, Arizona, and Yuma County for the purpose of providing a Court Security Position and Services. SUMMARY:
Pursuant to Arizona Supreme Court Administrative Order 2007-15 issued on February 8, 2017, Court Security Standards and related implementation recommendations in Appendix A were adopted effective July 1, 2017. All courts shall comply with the court security standards as adopted. The purpose of this IGA is to establish a partnership between the Superior Court of Yuma County and the San Luis Municipal Court, with the goal being for the Superior Court of Yuma County to provide security services to the San Luis Municipal Court through a court security officer to ensure the safety of all individuals in the San Luis Municipal Court.
The County of Yuma Superior Court has a fully developed Court Security program and is the entity in the best position to administer the functions. The benefits include, but are not limited to, effective recruitment and development of qualified staff; ongoing supervision and training of the same; scheduling and coverage for San Luis Municipal Court; consistent services provided to the end users throughout the county; and compliance with Arizona Supreme Court Rules and certification requirements. The IGA will be in effect for 10 years.

FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT (IF THIS IS A BUDGET TRANSFER, YOU MUST ATTACH THE BUDGET ADJUSTMENT FORM):
The FY 2024-2025 budgeted salary for the Court Security Officer position is $52,240.00. If the cumulative payment exceeds this amount, the Court department will need to process a budget transfer to cover the additional expenses they may incur. The budget will be reviewed annually to adjust the baseline salary in accordance with Yuma County rates.
