Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the appointment of a member to serve on the Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) Yuma County Advisory Council. (Jenny Torres, Acting City Manager)
SUMMARY:
Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) is a community action agency that provides a comprehensive array of services to help people achieve their highest level of self-sufficiency. WACOG comprises member entities of cities, towns, and counties within Yuma County, La Paz County, and Mohave County. Each entity appoints an official representative to serve on the board. On January 22, 2025, the San Luis City Council appointed Council member Javier Vargas to the WACOG executive board. WACOG has several advisory councils or subcommittees. Council Member Maria Cecilia Cruz currently serves on the Regional Council of Aging. There is a vacancy on the WACOG Yuma County Advisory Council (YCAC). The YCAC meetings are held every other month at 10:00 am in the Yuma WACOG office, and Zoom is optional.
