Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the acceptance and award of a construction contract to Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc., for the construction of the Lift Station 300 Influent Sewer Force Main project. (Jorge Perez, Assistant Director of Public Works)
SUMMARY:
The Department of Public Works is seeking Council approval to accept and award a construction contract to Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc., for the construction of the Lift Station 300 Influent Sewer Force Main project. Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder for this project, at $1,627,560.17. Public Works, in conjunction with its Wastewater Department and its consultant engineer, evaluated all bids received and recommends awarding the contract to Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc.
The Lift Station 300 Influent Sewer Force Main project represents phase 1 of the West Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion project. Phase 2 will consist of the plant expansion, followed by phase 3, which will entail constructing the new operations building.
Following a traditional design-bid-build approach, staff recommends approval of Yuma Valley Contractors, Inc.'s bid in the amount of $1,627,560.17.

This project is budgeted as part of the West Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion. Funding for the construction contract will be paid from the WIFA loan approved in December 2025. No additional impact to the Wastewater Fund is anticipated.
