Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the appointment of a San Luis representative to serve on the Yuma County Library District Board of Trustees. (ITEM CONTINUED FROM THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 28, 2026) (Jenny Torres, Acting City Manager)
SUMMARY:
The Board of Trustees' primary function is to promote the development and improvement of library services and recommend library policy to the Yuma County Free Library District Board of Directors. The board meets for business purposes on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm. The location is provided to the board once an agenda is finalized.
Council Member Luis E. Cabrera has resigned from the Yuma County Library District Board of Trustees effective January 6, 2026; the current term expires June 30, 2026. A replacement is needed for the expiring term.
An appointment is also needed for the upcoming three-year term, which begins July 1, 2026, and ends June 30, 2029.
The Mayor and City Council may appoint the same Council Member for both terms or different Council Members (one for the expiring term and one for the next full three-year term).

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I MOVE TO APPOINT ANGELICA ROLDAN, DIRECTOR OF PARKS & RECREATION, TO THE YUMA COUNTY LIBRARY DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES, WHOSE TERM WILL EXPIRE ON JUNE 30, 2026, AND APPOINT HER TO SERVE THE NEXT THREE-YEAR TERM WHICH EXPIRES ON JUNE 30, 2029.
