Resolution
ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 2402 - Aerial Imagery Update. A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, approving and adopting an Intergovernmental Agreement with Yuma County for the Yuma Region-Imagery Acquisition Consortium Project. (Jose A. Guzman, Director of Development Services)
SUMMARY:
Yuma County has coordinated a regional aerial imagery consortium for several years to provide updated aerial imagery for participating jurisdictions and agencies throughout the region. The City of San Luis has participated in this effort in the past, including the imagery updates completed in 2017 and 2022.
Participation in the consortium allows the city to receive updated, high-quality aerial imagery at a shared regional cost rather than contracting for the service independently. This provides a more cost-effective way for the city to maintain current imagery and mapping resources.
The city continues to experience growth and development. Having current imagery helps staff review existing conditions, identify changes in development patterns, verify infrastructure locations, evaluate properties, and support public safety, planning, and other city operations.
For the current imagery cycle, Yuma County has provided the final Intergovernmental Agreement for the city’s participation in the County Region-Imagery Consortium. The aerial imagery flight for this cycle was completed in December 2025.
The city’s share for this cycle is $20,204.00, which is a one-time cost for the current imagery update.
This Resolution authorizes approval of the Intergovernmental Agreement with Yuma County and allows the city to proceed with its participation in the current imagery consortium cycle.
