ITEM:

Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding authorization to award a construction contract to Robert E. Porter Construction Co., Inc. for the East Wastewater Treatment Plant concrete basin repairs.  (Eulogio Vera, Public Works Director).  

SUMMARY:

Staff is proposing a contract be awarded to Robert E. Porter Construction Co., Inc. for the East Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) concrete basin crack repairs and crystalline waterproofing.  Project will consist of surface preparation, cleaning, joint tape repairs on designated cracks and additional cracks as necessary.  Following the crack repairs, the designated floors and walls will have necessary surface preparation, cleaning as required by the manufacturer for the installation of a crystalline waterproofing system.  Project went out to bid and Robert E. Porter Construction Co., Inc. was the lowest bidder with a bid of $347,072.00.  As part of the bidding requirements, contractor needed to have recent experience in multiple projects of similar complexity and Robert E. Porter Construction Co., Inc. meets that requirement.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPROVE  AND ACCEPT THE BID OF ROBERT E. PORTER CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. AND AUTHORIZE APPROPRIATE STAFF TO TAKE ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $347,072.00.
