Discussion on any and all matters regarding the purchase of a new Peterbuilt 348 dump truck for the Wastewater Sludge Management Program for the Public Works Department, Wastewater Division. (Manuel Rojas, Assistant Public Works Director)

SUMMARY:

The new dump truck purchase is Fiscal Year 2017 approved.  Subject purchase is a cooperative purchase under HGACBUY, contract #HT06-16.  The new dump truck will replace a damaged 1985 retrofitted Solid Waste unit in Wastewater Division.  The new equipment will enable the City and Wastewater Division to comply with Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and Yuma County health regulations.  The primary use of subject equipment is Wastewater Sludge Management and an asset to the daily operations.  In 2015, the City produced approximately 972 tons of sludge in the West and East Wastewater Treatment Plants.  Staff recommends purchase of subject equipment in the amount of $154,956.25.
