Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the approval to award the City of San Luis Union Street and 6th Avenue Paving Improvements Project to the lowest responsive bidder DPE Construction with a bid of $284,907.00 (Eulogio Vera, Director of Public Works)
SUMMARY:
Nicklaus Engineering Inc. working with staff completed the design for the paving of Union Street as well as a portion of 6th Avenue. This project will improve the circulation of pedestrian and vehicular traffic between 5th and 6th Avenues providing much better connectivity between the library, schools, neighborhoods, and City Hall. The project will include paving of a half width Union Street with curb and sidewalk and drainage improvements. The City advertised for bids in Yuma Daily Sun. Bids were received from CEMEX, SWP, and DPE and were opened on Monday, March 26, 2018, and were $307,073.55, $521,468.85, and $284,907.85 respectively,
RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I MOVE TO AWARD AND APPROVE THE CONTRACT TO DPE IN THE AMOUNT OF $284,908.00.
