Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding authorization to purchase two (2) fully marked and equipped new 2019 Ford F150 SuperCrew Cab XL 4x4 pick-up trucks and one (1) fully marked and equipped new 2019 Ford F250 Super Duty Super Cab XL 4x4 pick-up using Fiscal Year 2019 Capital Projects Budgeted funds. SUMMARY:

The San Luis Police Department is seeking approval for the purchase of two (2) new 2019 Ford F150 SuperCrew Cab XL 4x4 pick-up trucks and (1) new 2019 Ford F250 Super Duty Super Cab XL 4x4 pick-up truck. These pick-up trucks would be additions to the police patrol vehicle fleet. The funds for the purchase of these vehicles were approved as a Fiscal Year 2019 Capital Project to purchase two (2) fully marked and equipped patrol pick-up trucks and one (1) fully marked and equipped animal control pick-up truck. The pick-up trucks will be purchased through Peoria Ford, which is the Ford Dealership holding the State Contract # ADSPO17-166117 for police vehicle purchases.

The pick-up trucks will be fully equipped and marked by Arizona Emergency Products (AEP) using Yavapai County contract #2018-346, which provides a cost reduction from that of the dealership state contract. Within the budgeted amount there are sufficient funds to purchase two (2) new 2019 Ford F150 SuperCrew Cab XL 4x4 pick-up trucks and one (1) new 2019 F250 Super Duty Super Cab XL 4x4 pick-up truck using the State contract and Yavapai County contract. Using the State contract and the Yavapai contract is authorized under San Luis City Code-Purchasing Section 36.09, Cooperative Purchasing.

Peoria Ford provided individual vehicle quotes for a new 2019 Ford F150 SuperCrew Cab XL 4x4 pick-up truck of $34,952.66 and a new 2019 F250 Super Duty Super Cab XL 4WD pick-up truck of $58,327.51. The total cost for two (2) Ford F150 pick-up trucks and one (1) F250 pick-up truck is $128,232.83.

Alexander Ford of Yuma provided comparable quotes for a new 2019 Ford F150 SuperCrew Cab XL 4x4 pick-up truck of $37,645.15 and a new 2019 F250 Super Duty Super Cab XL 2WD pick-up truck of $61,371.40. The total cost for two (2) Ford F150 pick-up trucks and one (1) F250 pick-up truck is $136,661.70 from Alexander Ford. Peoria Ford was selected as the lowest quote.

Arizona Emergency Products (AEP) provided an individual vehicle quote for equipping and marking of two (2) new 2019 Ford F150 SuperCrew Cab XL 4x4 pick-up truck of $32,224.72 and one (1) new 2019 Ford F250 Super Duty Super Cab XL 4x4 truck of $9,642.41. The total cost for equipping and marking two (2) Ford F150 pick-up trucks and one (1) F250 pick-up truck is $41,867.13.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) FULLY MARKED AND EQUIPPED FORD F150 SUPER CREW CAB XL PICK-UP TRUCKS AND ONE (1) FULLY MARKED AND EQUIPPED FORD F250 SUPER DUTY SUPER CAB XL PICK-UP TRUCK IN THE COMBINED AMOUNT OF $170,099.96 AS PRESENTED.
