Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding authorization to go out to bid for the installation of linear panels project for the interior of the San Luis Gym.  (Lizandro Galaviz, Director of Parks & Recreation)

In the last couple of years, the San Luis Gym has been host to various events and activities which the community has greatly enjoyed. In order to keep providing great activities and events for our community, the Parks & Recreation staff is wanting to install new linear panels to the interior of the gym walls. The reason this installation is needed is to enclose the current insulation material located on the walls, provide better air quality to everyone entering the gym, give the gym interior a more professional presentation and prevent any damage to the current uncovered insulation when sports activities are going on.
 
For this Fiscal Year 2018-2019, City Council has approved $49,930.00 for the installation of linear panels for the San Luis Gym interior. Under the San Luis City Code - Purchasing §36.01 (E), any purchase of $35,000.00 and more, the purchasing agent (City of San Luis) shall publish in two (2) issues of a newspaper of general circulation a notice inviting sealed bids or Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for contemplated purchase from professional services. Therefore, the Parks and Recreation staff is requesting permission to place a newspaper ad seeking bids for the installation of linear panels project for the San Luis Gym.
