ITEM:

Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Order No. 2019-1.  An order of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, ordering and calling a special election to be held in and for the City of San Luis, Arizona on May 21, 2019, to submit to the qualified electors of San Luis the question of the proposed amount to be raised by primary (ad valorem) property taxes.  (Sonia Cornelio, City Clerk and Kay Marion Macuil, City Attorney)

SUMMARY:

Order No. 2019-1 schedules a May 21, 2019, special election by mail-in ballot.  The ballot would propose a property tax.  Currently, the City of San Luis does not have a property tax.
 
Publication of Call of Election is a way to inform the City of San Luis voters about the election. 

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPROVE AND ADOPT ORDER NO. 2019-1.

The City Clerk's Office will incur costs with the County to run the city's special election, with the printer to publish the publicity pamphlet and with a certified translator for spanish version of the pamphlet.
