Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the Architectural Services Agreement with Thompson Design Architects, P.C. to provide necessary professional services to complete the Senior Center Expansion Project, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) #105-20. (Mary French-Jones, Grants Writer)
SUMMARY:
The City of San Luis received a Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Regional Account Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to complete the Senior Center Expansion Project CDBG #105-20 in the amount of $459,764.00. In order to facilitate this project, it is necessary to procure architectural services to assist with the design, construction bid documents and other consulting work that may be required during the project construction and completion.
The City of San Luis solicited architectural services for the federally funded Senior Center Expansion Project CDBG #105-20 on September 6, 2019. Staff received eight (8) requests. Staff conducted an optional pre-proposal meeting on September 17, 2019, at the San Luis Senior Center for all interested entities. Staff conducted the proposal opening on September 30, 2019, and received four (4) proposals from qualified architectural firms. The project's review committee ranked, then selected the most suitable firm to enter into negotiations. Staff recommends entering into a contract agreement with Thompson Design Architects, PC to complete the architectural design and other consultation work for the completion of the Senior Center Expansion Project CDBG #105-20.
