Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the employment contract of the Fire Chief. (Tadeo A. De La Hoya, City Manager)
SUMMARY:
As required by Arizona law, non-judicial positions specifically approved by City Council must have a maximum term of two (2) years. The current Fire Chief contract expires on October 9, 2020. The Fire Chief is a position created by city ordinance which states:
San Luis City Code §33.04 - "The Fire Chief shall be appointed by the City Manager, whose appointment shall be confirmed by the City Council, and shall serve at the pleasure of the City Manager on such terms and conditions as may be approved by the City Council. The Fire Chief shall be subject to the direction of the City Manager."
