ITEM:
Discussion and possible directions to staff on any and all matters regarding the purchase of extended warranty coverage for the new Zoll Cardiac monitors. (Angel Ramirez, Fire Chief)
SUMMARY:
The San Luis Fire Department (SLFD) acquired seven (7) Zoll X Series, cardiac monitors, in early 2020; these monitors have a 1-year full coverage warranty. Zoll offers an additional 5-year extended warranty that covers any damages internal and external along with any software updates and yearly preventative maintenance. If this coverage is not purchased, any repairs after the original 1-year warranty has expired would be paid by SLFD on a case by case basis. The warranty also includes a loaner program free of charge in case we have to ship any of our devices for extended factory repairs.
Zoll has been very good to us when we need them to repair or answer any questions that we have regarding any products that have been purchased from them. They also conduct many trainings for our paramedics to keep us up to date with all the new technology coming out.
