Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the salary adjustment budget for Fiscal Year 2021 - 2022. (Monica Castro, Director of Finance)
SUMMARY:
In FY 2022, we included $666,240 to implement a salary adjustment for all City of San Luis employees. After reviewing the salary adjustment schedule, the total salary adjustment total is $866,240.00, $200,000.00 more than budgeted.
We were able to identify budget capacity in the capital project account from the San Luis ladder purchase. We will pay half this year, and we will pay the remaining half next year when the truck arrives. This delay will relieve budget capacity in this line item.
The salary adjustment will bring to 100% of their target salary all employees in the General, Police, and Fire classes and to at least 95% of all management and executive classes. We are proposing an implementation date of August 28, 2021. Therefore, staff is seeking approval from the City Council to transfer budget capacity from the capital projects to the salary accounts to implement the salary adjustment this year.
