Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the purchase of playground equipment for the playground expansion of PPEP Park. (Maria A. Roldan, Acting Director of Parks and Recreation)
SUMMARY:
The Parks and Recreation Department would like to expand the current playground area at the PPEP Park. The PPEP Park is visited by many residents on a daily basis. Staff would like to add new equipment to expand the current playground structures. Staff has reached out to Davebang Associates Inc. for assistance and requested a quote for playground equipment that can be added to the current playground structure. Staff have worked with Davebang Associates Inc. for many years and have purchased various playground equipment for the city parks, including PPEP Park. Davebang Associates Inc. has quoted a unity slide climber, unity dome, play cubes, and cone spinner w/floor. Staff believes that these new additions will be great and highly favored by the children attending the PPEP Park. It will be a new look for the park and will have new playground sets that children can use and play on. Staff budgeted for playground equipment for the playground expansion of the PPEP Park, and it was approved as a CIP item for this Fiscal Year.
Davebang Associates Inc. is part of the Mohave State Contracts cooperative purchasing and the quote for all these items is a total of $53,994.91. City Code-Purchasing §3.05.090 allows for cooperative purchasing, ensuring that the city is getting the best prices in the market.
Staff would like to seek approval from Mayor and city council to move forward with the ordering process. Due to many shipment issues going on in the market, staff would like to order the equipment in a timely manner to avoid any shipment delays. Staff would like to be able to include the new equipment before the end of the fiscal year. Staff is open to any recommendations or directions Mayor and city council may have in regard to this purchase.

The purchase of playground structure additions for the PPEP Park was budgeted and approved as a CIP item for the current Fiscal Year 22. The items mentioned on the attached quote were submitted for approval and approved under the CIP line item: Structure Option 1 - Play cubes 4.0 with transition climber.
