Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the City of San Luis awarding a construction services contract to Gutierrez Canales Engineering, PC for the replacement of five (5) sanitary sewer manholes located near Hidalgo Ave and Cesar Chavez Blvd. (Manuel Hernandez, Acting Assistant Director of Public Works)

SUMMARY:

Public Works has identified some sewer manholes that have reached the end of their service life. Five 30-year manholes have been identified as a priority for replacement, and for which we are requesting approval to award replacement. As part of an approved manhole replacement program, Wastewater Division has secured funding for annual manhole evaluations, repairs, and replacements as needed. The city has purchased the five (5) corrosion-resistant manholes and advertised bids for their replacement. The formal bid process resulted in three (3) bids, with Gutierrez Canales Engineering being the lowest responsive bidder in the amount of $236,738.00.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO AWARD A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE HIDALGO AVENUE MANHOLE REPLACEMENTS PROJECT AS PRESENTED TO GUTIERREZ CANALES ENGINEERING, PC IN THE AMOUNT OF $236,738.00.

Please reference attached Bid Tabulation. Bidder #1 made an error on their tabulation. The error was $357 dollars in total. Bidder #1 has agreed to the correct total of $236,738.00
