ITEM:

Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the authorization to reallocate budget funds from approved projects on March 27, 2024, to the partial payment for the APS Utility Re-allocation on Cesar Chavez Boulevard.  (Jenny Torres, Acting City Manager)

SUMMARY:

On March 27, 2024, the City Council approved the budget transfer from projects that were originally adopted during the budget processing in the fiscal year 2023-2024 ("FY2024") to projects that we would include in the budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025 ("FY2025"). These were projects that we were able to complete for FY2024 to alleviate the budget for FY2025. However, we have identified the following projects that will not be completed by the end of FY2024 or that have remaining balances after completion.

  • AZ State Land Acquisition of 18 acres
  • Downtown Drainage Land Acquisition
  • City Hall East Wing Design
  • 10th Avenue Design and Construction
  • Cesar Chavez ROW Acquisition
  • Cesar Chavez Utility Relocation (Wastewater)
Staff requests authorization from the Mayor and City Council to reallocate $900,040.00 of unspent budgeted funds from these projects to the partial payment for the APS Utility Reallocation Project on Cesar Chavez Boulevard.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPROVE A BUDGET TRANSFER AS STATED IN THE FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR THE PARTIAL PAYMENT OF $900,040.00 TO APS FOR UTILITY LINE RELOCATION FOR THE CESAR CHAVEZ BOULEVARD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT.
