Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding authorization for the purchase of ten (10) touchscreen mobile data computers using the Governor's Office of Highway Safety State Electronic Data Collection Grant Funds. (Alan Guevara, Lieutenant)
SUMMARY:
Purchase of Equipment
The San Luis Police Department is seeking approval for the purchase of ten (10) touchscreen mobile data computers (MDCs), vehicle docks, and adapters. The MDCs will be assigned to all staff engaged in enforcement, replacing our current MDCs, which are scheduled to be obsolete by the end of the current year. The equipment will be purchased from Code 3 Technology, which has provided a bid of $74,069.42, including tax, and are an official authorized vendor of the GETAC products. The GETAC products are covered under the Sourcewell Contract #090122-GET.
Total Purchase
Funds were budgeted for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The total amount awarded from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety SEDC Grant was $74,069.42. All of these funds will be used for the purchase of the MDCs per the grant agreement.
San Luis City Code Purchasing
The purchase comes under the San Luis City Code Purchasing, Section 3.05.090 Cooperative Purchasing, since they are an authorized dealer of the product using the Sourcewell Contract #090122-GET.
