Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding a contract with the consultant, Ramirez Advisors Inter-National, LLC, to assist the city with border and growth-related issues. (Jenny Torres, Acting City Manager)
SUMMARY:
Service: Ramirez Advisors Inter-National, LLC (RAI-N) will provide innovative solutions for cross-border business opportunities and improve the ability for goods and people to cross the border. Ramirez Advisors' work focuses on international businesses, regional economic development, and government affairs. Ramirez Advisors will assist the City of San Luis in addressing the City's needs by working with federal, state, and international entities. This service is classified as a professional service pursuant to SLCC § 3.05.080 and is not subject to requirements for quotes or bidding. The annual amount exceeds $45,000.00, so it must be approved by the City Council.
Amount: $96,500.00 On May 8, 2024, the City Council budgeted $98,500.00 as an estimate. The contract is for $93,000.00 for services, plus $3,500.00 for contingencies for travel expenses. Given the activity at both ports of entry, an additional $5,000.00 will be allocated in the budget for projects that may necessitate contract amendments.

This annual contribution is included in the fiscal year budget 2026. The budgeted amount for Ramirez Advisors Inter-National is $98,500, to cover travel expense contingencies or additional special projects. There is a total of $476,500 budgeted for all contractual services for the entire fiscal year 2026.
