Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Ordinance No. 479. An ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, amending and restating the San Luis City Code Section 2.05.020, providing that the City Council designate a Vice Mayor every year. (Council Members Luis E. Cabrera, Lizeth Servin and Javier Vargas)

SUMMARY:
This item was requested by City Council Member Luis Cabrera. The current city Code Section 2.05.020 States in pertinent part:
"At the first meeting at which the Mayor takes the oath of office, the Council shall designate one of its members as Vice-Mayor, who shall serve at the pleasure of the Council."
This Ordinance requires that the Vice-Mayor serve from December to December and encourages the City Council to rotate the designation of Vice-Mayor so that more City Council Members have the opportunity to serve as Vice-Mayor.
The following Council Members requested that this item be added to the agenda for the Special Meeting of January 16, 2025. (Please see the attached signed Agenda Item Review Form.)
