ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the Accidental Disability Retirement Application for Jesus Campas Burrola. (Maria Barajas, Local Board Secretary)
SUMMARY:
On November 6, 2025, during a prior board meeting, the Board approved proceeding with Mr. Jesus Campas Burrola’s application for Accidental Disability Retirement and authorized an Independent Medical Examination (IME) as required by the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS).
Mr. Campas Burrola underwent the Independent Medical Examination on November 19, 2025. The examination was conducted by an independent medical provider to objectively evaluate Mr. Campas Burrola current medical condition.
The IME findings are intended to assist PSPRS in determining eligibility for disability benefits, assessing medical status, and supporting administrative and benefit-related decisions in accordance with PSPRS guidelines.
The Local Board has reviewed the IME report and, based on the provider’s conclusions, determined that the disabling condition or injury was incurred in the performance of the employee’s duties as a Firefighter.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I MOVE TO APPROVE THE ACCIDENTAL DISABILITY RETIREMENT APPLICATION FOR JESUS CAMPAS BURROLA AND REQUEST THE LOCAL BOARD SECRETARY TO SUBMIT RETIREMENT PAPERWORK TO PSPRS FOR PROCESSING.
