Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the re-appointment of three (3) City of San Luis residents to serve on the City of San Luis Planning and Zoning Commission. (Jose A. Guzman, Director of Development Services)
SUMMARY:
Currently, seven (7) Commission Members are serving on the City of San Luis Planning and Zoning Commission:
Chairman Ruben Walshe
Vice-Chairman Angelica Ortiz
Commission Member George Amaya
Commission Member Javier Barraza
Commission Member Marco A. Pinzon
Commission Member Hugo Garcia
Commission Member Veronica Zavala
City Code Section 18.10.020 (E) Term of office. The term of office of the members of the Commission shall be four years, with the terms of members so staggered that the terms of no more than three members shall expire on January 31 in any one year. The incumbent Commissioner shall continue to serve after their term of office has expired until a successor has been appointed. In the event of a death, resignation, or removal from the Commission, a resident appointment by the City Council shall fill the vacancy, for the unexpired term.
The following commission members' terms will expire on January 31, 2026:
Member Marco A. Pinzon
Member Hugo Garcia
Member Veronica Zavala
All three members would like to continue serving as commission members for another term. The new term expiration date will be January 31, 2030.
