Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the electrical distribution and streetlight services from Arizona Public Service (APS) for the Sidewinder Road Streetlight Project - Project No. 2026051. (Manuel Hernandez, Assistant Director of Public Works)
SUMMARY:
Public Works is requesting the Mayor and City Council's approval to pay a deposit invoice from Arizona Public Service (APS) in the amount of $62,230.85 for electrical distribution and streetlight-related work associated with the Sidewinder Road Street Light Project - Project No. 2026051.
A total of 13 new streetlights will be installed along the east side right-of-way of Sidewinder Road, from 8th Avenue to County 22nd Street. The charges include streetlight installation along with an advance for project-related electrical infrastructure costs. This deposit is required for APS to initiate scheduling and proceed with construction activities.
APS is the sole provider of electrical utility services in the region; therefore, this work qualifies as an exclusive service (reference City Code 3.05.020 – Exclusive Services).

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I MOVE TO APPROVE PAYMENT OF A DEPOSIT INVOICE TO APS IN THE AMOUNT OF $62,230.85 FOR THE SIDEWINDER ROAD STREET LIGHT PROJECT.
