Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the renovation of the Joe Orduño Park artificial turf soccer field and awarding Dave Bang the renovation project. (Angelica Roldan, Director of Parks and Recreation)

The Parks and Recreation Department added an Artificial Turf Field area to Joe Orduño Park in June 2016. This area has been very popular in our community and has been used to host soccer games, practices and activities. Due to its popularity, it's gone through significant wear and tear, and the department has done maintenance & repair on it in the past couple of years. However, it is now in need of extensive maintenance, and staff has decided to reach out to a vendor for assistance in renovating the Artificial Turf Field. Dave Bang is a vendor who we have worked with a lot in the past, and they hold a state contract. Based on the field dimensions and the needed renovations, they estimate the project will cost $145,189.44. Staff submitted this project as a potential capital improvement project for Fiscal Year 2027, and it was approved for Fiscal Year 2027 with a budget of $146,000.00.

The quote provided by Dave Bang Associates Inc. is for $145,189.44 and includes the Mohave State Contract cooperative purchasing agreement — Mohave #24K-BANG-0222. The quote is for the purchase and installation of artificial turf and one pair of soccer goals with anchor kits. City Code-Purchasing §3.05.090 allows for cooperative purchasing, ensuring the city is getting the best prices in the market. 

Staff would like to seek approval from the Mayor and City Council to move forward with the ordering process with Dave Bang Associates Inc. Staff is open to any recommendations or directions the Mayor and City Council may have regarding this purchase.
