Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the acceptance and award of a construction contract to Merrill Development for the San Luis Senior Center Renovation Project. (Jorge Perez, Assistant Director of Public Works Assistant)
SUMMARY:
The Facilities Division is seeking Council approval to accept and award a construction contract to Merrill Development, 3266 E 33rd Place, Yuma, AZ, 85365, for the San Luis Senior Center Renovation Project.
The project consists of general construction, structural, plumbing, and electrical work as shown in the plans and specifications by Thompson Design Architects. Improvements include replacing flooring on most of the facility, demolition of a wall separating a large common area, and renovation of two restrooms.
The project was publicly advertised and procured utilizing the new procurement portal, OpenGov. Merrill Development was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, submitting a bid in the amount of $228,736.20.

I MOVE TO AWARD THE CONTRACT TO MERRILL DEVELOPMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $228,736.20 AND TO APPROVE THE BUDGET TRANSFER AS PRESENTED IN THE FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT.

FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT (IF THIS IS A BUDGET TRANSFER, YOU MUST ATTACH THE BUDGET ADJUSTMENT FORM):
The San Luis Senior Center Renovation Project, Project No. 2027018, is included in the FY2027 Adopted Budget with a budgeted amount of $125,000. To provide sufficient budget authority for the award of the construction contract, staff is respectfully requesting City Council approval of a budget transfer in the amount of $104,000 from General Fund Non-Departmental Contractual Services, GL Account No. 100-999-80000, to General Fund Capital Outlay Improv Build, GL Account No. 100-999-90005, Project No. 2027018.
Upon approval of the budget transfer, the total available budget for Project No. 2027018 will be $229,000, which is sufficient to cover the construction contract award of $228,736.20.
