Adopt Resolution #19-211 Approving Code Enforcement Action Plan at 8700 171st Ave NW

The purpose of this case is to review the code enforcement activities at 8700 171st Ave NW (the "Subject Property"), for an extension of code enforcement actions and time for cleanup.

Staff has been working with various code enforcement actions on this property for outdoor storage and off-street parking violations. City Staff has previously sent one notice of violation. The property owner has since been proactive in addressing code violations and keeping an open line of communication with City Staff. Due to the number of items, Staff believes an extension for clean up and code compliance is necessary. In addition, the property owner has been made aware of the resolution and has agreed to its provisions.

This case was incorrectly pulled from the consent agenda on September 24, 2019. This is a repeat of that case.

Alternative 1: Adopt Resolution #19-211 Approving Code Enforcement Action Plan at 8700 171st Ave NW. The property owner has been cooperative with staff and when provided the draft dates of compliance was agreeable to them. Staff is supportive of this alternative.

Alternative 2: Do not adopt Resolution #19-211 Approving Code Enforcement Action Plan at 8700 171st Ave NW. City Council should provide specific direction to staff as to how to proceed with this active code enforcement case. Staff is not opposed to this alternative but believes the approach and timeline outlined in the proposed resolutions is appropriate.

Staff handles code enforcement as part of their normal duties.

Staff recommends approval of Resolution #19-211, which will extend the time for cleanup at 8700 171st Ave NW.
