Consider Approval of a Revised Connect Anoka County Fiber Network Connectivity Services Agreement

Attached is the revised Connectivity Services Agreement between the City, Zayo, and Anoka County. The original agreement was approved in 2011. The agreement comes before Council to approve the removal of Fire Station #3 from the City's agreement. The City had been splitting the cost of connectivity with the City of Nowthen since implementation. However, the City of Nowthen, as of January 1, 2020, has taken full ownership of the site's connectivity status. This is one less site the City is responsible for, and about a $37/month savings.

The Agreement also states the City's intention to remain a part of the Connect Anoka County network. This is the second of three five-year renewal options given to the connected entities. 

There is no additional funding required to approve the revised connectivity services agreement.  

Staff recommends renewing the agreement, exercising the next 5-year option, as the only change is the number of sites.
