Title:
Approve Application for Special Events Permit for a Farmer’s Market at New Life Church located at 17261 Saint Francis Blvd NW
Purpose/Background:
The City has received an Application for a Special Events Permit for a Farmer’s Market at New Life Church located at 17261 Saint Francis Blvd. NW scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 16th. Staff is generally supportive of the concept of a Farmer’s Market and has been attempting to work with the operator to ensure proper approvals in place. Staff only recently received this Application after hearing of this event. It is standard policy to approve a Special Events Permit for these types of outdoor events for purpose of crowd control, traffic control and noise management (especially for live bands, DJs, etc.). Staff is also reviewing impacts of the current Stay at Home Order. Staff will attempt to update this case on Monday, May 11th with addition information and Staff Recommendation.

Notification is not required.
Funding Source:
This case is being handled as part of normal Staff duties.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of the Special Events Permit, subject to final inspection by the Fire Department and Police Department. Attached is guidance for Farmer's Markets from the State of Minnesota.
Action:
Motion to approve/deny the application for Special Events Permit for the New Life Church Farmer's Market, subject to final approval and inspection by the Fire Department and Police Department.
