Adopt Resolution #20-183 to Hire Paid-on-call Firefighters

The purpose of this case is to request authorization to hire paid-on-call Firefighters in order to bring the Fire Department within acceptable staffing levels.

A firefighter recruitment was conducted, including an informational meeting held at Fire Station #1, interviews, background checks, reference checks, physical agility tests, work-style assessments, pre-employment physicals, and drug screens. At this time, all of the candidates have successfully passed the requirements to become city of Ramsey Paid-on-call Firefighters. All eligible candidates will be subject to a 1-year probationary period.

The funding required to fill these positions is included in the approved 2020 budget. 

Staff recommends hiring Mr. Curtis Forster, Mr. Jake Henninger, Mr. Steven Marquette, Mr. Jamey McPheeters, Mr. Jacob Moeller, Mr. Jack Oliverius and Mr. Justin Petrick as Paid-on-call Firefighters at $12.88 per hour, effective August 26, 2020.
