Adopt Resolution #11-09-XXX Approving the Classification and Sale of Tax-Forfeit Parcel in the City of Ramsey - Namely Lot 1, Block 3, Pondvale Estates 2nd Addition - PIN 23-32-25-44-0040

Background:

Staff received notification of a tax-forfeit parcel in Pondvale Estates 2nd Addition.  The parcel was reviewed by the Engineering Department which determined that the City has no need for this parcel.  Pondvale Addition was originally platted with the idea that utilities would eventually be installed (before the Charter amendment was passed).  Lots 1, 2, and 3 were owned by Ellen Stanley.  All of the lots that were platted in this subdivision were grouped into three lots (i.e. 4, 5, and 6 were owned by a single owner).  The idea was that when combined, they met the minimum area for non-sewered lots.  Ms. Stanley somehow split one lot that does not meet the minimum area for non-sewered lots.  This parcel, Lot 1, Block 3, Pondvale Estates 2nd Addition (PIN 23-32-25-44-0040) is classified as non-buildable.

When a parcel is classified as tax-forfeit, such classification must be approved by the municipality, and notification must be submitted to the County.  Staff has drafted a resolution, which is attached, to this Consent Item for Council adoption which will approve the tax-forfeit classification.

Motion to adopt Resolution #11-09-XXX Approving the Classification and Sale of Tax-Forfeit Parcel in the City of Ramsey - Namely Lot 1, Block 3, Pondvale Estates 2nd Addition - PIN 23-32-25-44-0040.
