Title:
Review Content Calendar for Ramsey Resident and Ramsey Recycler 'Focus on Environment' Articles
Purpose/Background:
As part of last month's work plan discussion, the Environmental Policy Board (EPB) asked Staff to develop a list of potential topics that may be used to guide seasonally relevant articles for the Ramsey Resident and Ramsey Recycler newsletters. Additionally, Staff was directed to prepare a calendar to assist with task management. Both are attached to this case. The purpose of this case is to provide the EPB an opportunity to review the potential topics, make any recommended adjustments, and to possibly even identify and/or assign authors.
Observations/Alternatives:
The list of topics can be adjusted as desired/recommended by the EPB. Furthermore, should some emerging issue(s) arise, it could always be included within the Ramsey Resident newsletter as a stand alone article (e.g. not a part of the Focus on Environment column). For planning purposes, assume that this column will equate to a half page (approximately 300 words). If there is an image that would accompany the article (highly recommended, for visual interest), that would likely need to fit within the half page allotment (meaning reducing the article down to 150-200 words approximately). If there is more detail than can fit within the space allotment, Staff could develop a webpage that can be referenced for more information and the information can be populated there.
As can be seen in the attached schedule, there are multiple topics for consideration for most issues. Please note that the expectation would be for only one of those topics to be addressed in the corresponding newsletter issue. An author can select the topic their choice. Additionally, as previously noted, if there are topics of interest that are not listed, those can be added at any time.

Action:
Based on discussion. No formal action is necessary.
