Update on Street Light Request for Bear Park

Purpose/Background:

Purpose:
The purpose of this case is to update the Public Works Committee of the street light request for Bear Park.
Background:  At the July Public Works Committee meeting, staff brought forward a request for a street light at Bear Park that was received from a resident in the area.  At that meeting the committee requested that we poll the residents in the area to gather their input on the street light. 

Timeframe:

  5 minutes

Observations/Alternatives:

Staff received two emails in favor of the street light installation and those emails are attached to the case.

Funding Source:

Cost of installing the street light would be $ 4,893.00, with an ongoing monthly maintenance and energy cost of $6.76.  These funds would come from the street light utility fund GL code 9603

Recommendation:

Staff recommends installing a street light at 15500 Roanoke St (Bear Park) as requested by the residents in that area.

Action:

Motion to committee to accept staff recommendation and move forward with install a street light at 15500 Roanoke St (Bear Park)
