Authorization to a Hire Temporary On-call Snow Plow Driver
 

The purpose of this case is to seek City Council approval to hire a Temporary On-call Snow Plow Driver for the Public Works Department.

Temporary On-call Snow Plow Drivers assist the Public Works Department with cul-de-sac routes using the City's 1 ton pickups, on an as-needed basis through the winter months.   These positions do not require a commercial driver's license. The process to fill these positions includes an open competitive recruitment, interviews, background checks, pre-employment testing, City Council approval to hire and on-boarding. 

At this time, Mr. Ted Erickson has passed the City's pre-employment background checks and staff recommends hiring him. 
 

The funding required to fill the Temporary On-call Snow Plow Drivers is included in the 2021 / 2022 budget.

Staff recommends hiring the following Temporary On-call Snow Plow Driver:  Mr. Ted Erickson at $13.00 per hour, effective on or near December 13, 2021.
