Title:

Resolution Approving Final Payment to Northwest Asphalt, Inc. for Improvement Project #08-37 , County Pond Storm Sewer Outlet
 

Background:

RESOLUTION APPROVING FINAL PAYMENT TO NORTHWEST ASPHALT, INC. FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #08-37, COUNTY POND STORM SEWER OUTLET
 
 
WHEREAS, on October 28, 2008 the Ramsey City Council authorized the solicitaion of bids from plans prepared by staff, and;
 
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project 08-37,County Pond Storm Sewer Outlet, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and;
 
WHEREAS, on December 9, 2008 the Ramsey City Council awarded the contract for IP#08-37 to Northwest Asphalt in the amount of $392,249.17.
 
WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends 1st partial payment to Northwest Asphalt Inc. in the amount of $159,694.20.
 
WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends 2nd partial payment to Northwest Asphalt Inc. in the amount of $15,033.75.
 
WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends 3rd partial payment to Northwest Asphalt Inc. in the amount of $12,644.93.
 
WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends 4th partial payment to Northwest Asphalt Inc. in the amount of $92,664.09.
 
WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends 5th partial payment to Northwest Asphalt Inc. in the amount of $29,791.62.
 
WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends 6 th partial payment to Northwest Asphalt Inc. in the amount of $9,874.30.
 
WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends 7th partial payment to Northwest Asphalt Inc. in the amount of $7,720.24.
 
WHEREAS, Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer Brian Olson has inspected the completed work and recommends final payment to Northwest Asphalt Inc. in the amount of $73,163.07.
 
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA:
 
1) That the City Council hereby authorizes final payment to Northwest Asphalt for Improvement Project 08-37 County Pond Storm Sewer Outlet in the amount of $73,163.07.
 
2) That the City Council hereby accepts the pay request and authorizes the Mayor or City Administrator to sign the release form for this payment.
 
3) That the total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of bills for the date of January 11, 2011.
 
4) That the City of Ramsey Finance Department will be provided a signed copy of this resolution.
 
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:

whereupon said Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this 11th day of January 2011.
