Title:
Consider Recommending City Council Approval to Revise Public Works Facility Walk-In Business Hours
Purpose/Background:
Purpose:
The purpose of this case is to consider recommending City Council approval to revise the public walk-in hours for the Public Works facility from 8 AM to 4:30 PM to 8 AM to 3:30 PM.
Background:
The public access doors to the Public Works facility currently automatically lock at 4:30 PM. Staff recommends revising the time that the front doors automatically lock to prevent public access to the facility to 3:30 PM due to concerns that will be discussed in detail during the Public Works Committee meeting.
If needed, a door bell is available for use by the public or delivery services that want to talk directly to Staff between 3:30 and 4:30 PM. Staff can therefore still allow access to the Public Works Facility between 3:30 and 4:30 PM upon request.
A drop box is also available outside the front doors of the Public Works Facility, which is used by the public to drop off or pick up keys for Parks facility rentals. This box will remain available for public use from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
If the Public Works Committee recommends Council approval of this action, Staff will add a consent agenda case to the May 23rd City Council agenda.
