Title:
Adopt Resolution #24-090 Re-appointing Board and Commission Members
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to re-appoint members to the City's Boards and Commissions.
The City Council is responsible for appointing board and commission members to the Economic Development Authority (EDA), the Environmental Policy Board (EPB), the Park and Recreation Commission and the Planning Commission. It should be noted that the Mayor, per Minnesota Statute 469.095 has authority over the EDA appointment with approval of the City Council.
Staff conducted the annual boards and commissions recruitment process for terms beginning April 1, 2024. Vacancies were advertised in the Ramsey Resident, the Anoka County Union, on the City’s website, on QCTV, on the City’s Facebook, on the Highway 10 sign and via the City's email notification system.
Board or commission members with terms set to expire on March 31, 2024, were contacted and asked if they desired reappointment or not. If yes, each member was considered by the City Council as per the attached policy.
The City Council was in agreement to re-appoint the following incumbent members to new terms beginning April 1, 2024:

Funding Source:
Funding for the City's boards and commissions is included in the 2024 General Fund Budget.
Recommendation:
To re-appoint the following members, effective April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2028
- to the Environmental Policy Board: Mr. Thomas Hagerty, Mr. Michael Heifner and Mr. Hassan Salami
- to the Park and Recreation Commission: Ms. Megen Ealain; and
- to the Planning Commission: Mr. Bruce Anderson; and
To re-appoint the following member, effective April 1, 2024, through March 31, 2030
- to the Economic Development Authority: Ms. Rachal Johnson.
Outcome/Action:
Motion to adopt resolution #24-090 to:
1) To Re-appoint the following members, effective April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2028:
To the Environmental Policy Board, Mr. Thomas Hagerty, Mr. Michael Heifner and Mr. Hassan Salami; to the Park and Recreation Commission, Ms. Megen Ealain; and to the Planning Commission, Mr. Bruce Anderson; and
2) To Re-appoint the following member, effective April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2030: to the Economic Development Authority, Ms. Rachal Johnson.
