Both positions were vacated due to the employees departing the City of Ramsey.  An internal and external recruitment was conducted and Mr. John Bromen and Mr. Matt Nelson were selected as the top candidates for the positions. Staff completed the necessary background checks and are recommending that Mr. Bromen and Mr. Nelson be hired as both full-time Building Maintenance Workers.

With the City Council's authorization, John Bromen and Matt Nelson will begin as the City's new full-time Building Maintenance Workers on or near May 29, and May 30, respectively. As with all City employees recognized by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) bargaining unit, they will serve a six-month probationary period and will be subject to the City's Personnel Policy and the AFSCME Labor Agreement.

The primary objectives of this position are to assist in maintaining city facilities including, but not limited to buildings, offices, meeting rooms, HVAC equipment and grounds of the Ramsey Municipal Center, both Fire Stations, City Parks, Public Works facility and the Municipal Parking Facility, as well as assist with elections set-up and take-down.
