Title:
Adopt Resolution #25-212 Approving a Monetary Donation to the Ramsey Police Association
Purpose/Background:
At the September 2, 2025 Special City Council Work Session, City Council considered a request to spend public dollars, pursuant to M.S. 471.198, on efforts by the Ramsey Police Association (RPA) to fundraiser for RPA's efforts. For background, RPA is a non-profit with members from the Ramsey Police Department. Part of their efforts is to raise funds, and in exchange, they use a portion of those funds to assist community members in need whether through gift cards for food, fuel or temporary lodging. The consideration was for the city to rent a dunk tank for the Happy Days Festival and allow officers working at the event to solicit donations for RPA.
Recommendation:
By consensus, the City Council supported a direct $400 monetary donation to Ramsey Police Assocation.
Outcome/Action:
Motion to adopt Resolution #25-212 approving a monetary donation to the Ramsey Police Association.
