Encumber 2010 Funds for Civil Defense Siren Replacement in Conjunction with New Pylon Sign Construction

The Housing and Redevelopment Authority has authorized a project to construct a new pylon sign to be located south of the Municipal Center along US 10.  In close proximity to the new sign, there is an existing civil defense siren that the Chief of Police desires to move to co-locate with the new pylon sign.  Additionally, it is anticipated that the siren will most likely need to be relocated for the purposes of construction of the Ramsey Rail Station.  As a part of the 2010 General Fund budget, there was $5,000 un-allocated funds for maintenance of sirens or relocation of sirens.  Staff is recommending that the $5,000 from the 2010 Civil Defense budget be transferred to the budget of the HRA  for the purpose of relocating the siren in conjunction with the construction of the new pylon sign. 

No notification is required.

Staff is recommending that the $5,000 from the 2010 Civil Defense budget be encumbered and transferred to the budget of the HRA for use in 2011 for the purpose of relocating the siren in conjunction with the construction of the new pylon sign.
