2013 General Fund Budget and Levy

Continued discussion of the General Fund Budget and Levy before adoption of proposed budget and levy this evening. 

At a special EDA meeting on September 6, 2012, the EDA elected to levy $169,853 which would hold their levy constant with 2012.  Included in the documents that have been presented to the city council at budget worksessions was an EDA levy amount of $104,466.  An EDA levy increase of $65,387 would increase the city's proposed tax capacity rate from 44.71% to 45.02%.

Another topic that may be addressed is the issuance of capital equipment certificates and/or leasing options for the 2013 capital included in the General Fund Budget.  Staff has received leasing information and debt information in relationship to the certificates (debt schedules attached).
