Title:
Review RFQ for Demolition of Buildings Located on 8020 147 Ave NW
Background:
Staff received direction at the August regular EDA meeting to send out a RFQ for demolition of buildings and removal of infrastructure on the parcel known as "The Nordvik Property" (located at 8020 147th Ave NW). Responses are due Tuesday, September 11. Staff will compile results and review at the September EDA meeting. Attached to this case are the RFQ and Subject Property profile.
Observations:
NOTE: a pre-demolition study was conducted on the Subject Property by Techtron. The propose of this study is to unveil any hazardous materials used in the construction of the building (i.e. asbestos). This study must be conducted before demolition. The results of this study will be shared at the EDA meeting. The cost of the study is estimated to be $1,200.
Funding Source:
The cost of the pre-demolition study, and the potential demolition of buildings and site clean up of the Subject Property, will be paid for with future land proceeds.
Staff Recommendation:
Craft a recommendation to the City Council in [favor/not in favor] of moving forward with demolition of buildings and site clean up on the Subject Property.
