Presentation of the Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting - Background
Background:
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the City of Ramsey the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This is the 18th consecutive year (1994 - 2011) the City of Ramsey has received this distinguished award. Established in 1945, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program encourages government entities to go beyond the maximum requirements of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that promote transparency and full disclosure. The City of Ramsey is one of only 96 other Minnesota cities to receive this recognition for reporting year 2010 positioning the City in an elite group of government entities with superior reporting practices.
