Title:
Adopt Resolution #14-04-074 Amending the 2014 Council Organization Resolution (14-01-007) - Council Appointment to Youth First
Purpose/Background:
Purpose: The purpose of this resolution is to amend the 2014 Council Organization Resolution to appoint Councilmember Johns to serve as Council representative on the Youth First Board.
Background: When Council adopted the annual organizational resolution on January 14, 2014, Councilmember Jason Tossey was appointed to serve as the Council representative for Youth First. Since that time, Councilmember Tossey's work commitments have increased and he feels he cannot fulfill his obligation to Youth First in a manner he deems acceptable. He requested another Councilmember replace him to give, in his words, Youth First the representation it deserves. Councilmember Johns has agreed to serve on the Youth First Board. The appointments were initially done by resolution; therefore, a resolution is attached amending the original appointing resolution - removing Councilmember Tossey and placing Councilmember Johns as the Council representative on the Youth First Board.

Recommendation:
Staff recommends Council adopt the resolution amending the 2014 Council Organization Resolution #14-01-007 - the amendment being the removal of Councilmember Jason Tossey from the Youth First Board, at his request, and replacing his appointment with Councilmember Jill Johns.
Action:
Motion to adopt Resolution #14-04-074 Amending the 2014 Council Organization Resolution (14-01-007) - Council appointment to the Youth First Board.
