2015 Preliminary Budget/Levy Review

The City's adopted 2015 budget calendar calls for the 2015 Preliminary budgets and levies to be presented to the City Council at work session starting in July.  Council work sessions will continue up to preliminary levy adoption on September 9, 2014.

The city annually adopts a preliminary levy for the General Fund, Economic & Development Authority (EDA) fund, and the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) fund.  For 2015, the HRA will not be adopting a levy, as the HRA is proposed to be dissolved for year 2015.  The HRA budgeted expenditures from 2014 have been incorporated into the budgets of the General Fund and EDA for year 2015.

The proposed budgets, as presented, reflect a snapshot of where the budgets are today (first review).    Staff will continue to further define the recommended budgets/levies, after council has had a chance to weigh in on tax rates, capital equipment funding, and road funding (to name a few of the major issues).
