Title:
Discuss Format for Upcoming Joint Work Session with the City Council
Purpose/Background:
At the July 8, 2014 City Council Work Session, the City Council reviewed the EPB's draft 2014 Work Plan. As part of that discussion, the City Council suggested that a Joint Work Session with the City Council and EPB would be beneficial to discuss potential additional topics for the EPB to consider for additional review.
The intent of this case is to update the EPB on the City Council direction and recent approval of the 2014 EPB Work Plan as well as discuss a potential format to maximize the time of the Joint Work Session with the City Council. Staff has formulated a potential format that will be discussed at the meeting. The intent of this discussion topic is not necessarily to identify additional topics, but to formulate the format for the Joint Work Session.
As part of this discussion, Staff will be seeking feedback from the Board as to whether the Work Plan should remain as is, which is focused on two topics (water conservation and recycling), or whether there is a desire to expand the potential action items. The Board had consciously developed a very concise Work Plan with the intention of having a greater impact and measurable results due to greater focus on each topic.
