Title
Approve 2015 Paid on Call Fire Officer Selections
Purpose/Background:
Paid on Call Fire Officers consist of the following positions: Assistant Fire Chiefs (3), Captains (2), Lieutenants (4), Training Officer/Lieutenant (1) Terms are 2 years with half the positions available for application each year. The Fire Chief conducts interviews and brings a recommendation to the City Administrator for approval, then to council for approval. The City Administrator has discussed with the Fire Chief and approves the 2015 recommendations.
Funding Source:
Annual Officer pay is as follows: Assistant Chief $4500, Captain $3180, Lieutenant $2520, Training Officer/Lieutenant $2972. All these are budgeted annually in the Personnel Services portion of the Fire Department Budget. It should be noted that per the Ramsey/Nowthen Joint Powers Agreement, Nowthen pays for one Assistant Chief pay and one Lieutenant pay.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends to council to approve the Fire Chiefs 2015 Paid on Call Fire Officers selections as attached.
Action:
Approve/Not Approve Fire Chiefs recommendation of 2015 Paid on Call Fire Officer selections.
