Title
Approve Exemption for a Gambling License for Ramsey Fire Relief Association
Purpose/Background:
Purpose: The State Gambling Board requires a city to give approval to a non-profit organization for a gambling event that is located within its city limits by acknowledging this approval by signing off on an application for exempt permit.
The attached application is from the Ramsey Firefighters Relief Association for exemption from a lawful gambling license to hold a fund-raising raffle at Ramsey Fire Station #1 on October 10, 2015.
The Ramsey Firefighters Relief Association meets all of the requirements which allow them to remain exempt from licensing, primarily from the standpoint that commodities to be raffled are less than $50,000 in a calendar year.
